A Taste of Summer - OmVed Supper Club July

A hyperlocal, seasonal and plant based dinner bringing out the taste of summer.

Time & Location

18 Jul 2024, 18:30 – 21:30

London, Townsend Yard, London N6 5JF, UK

About the event

At Omved, we take pride in our hyper-local, seasonal and wild approach to cultivating and preparing food (which you can see in action in this video) and we invite you to experience it with an intimate and thoughtful dinner that brings out the taste of summer.  Led by Josephine Marchandise and Georgia Dowling, our kitchen endeavours to redefine the concept of 'waste' by creatively repurposing every food scrap, integrating wild and native ingredients and ferments into our menu, and minimizing energy and water usage through a closed-loop food system.

We believe eating should be a multi-sensory experience that nourishes, excites, and fulfills. Prepare to engage all your senses on a delightful journey from seed to plate, featuring more than 70 different varieties of plants, grown in our permaculture garden and local farmer markets.  Please note that our menu is vegan and determined by our seasonal garden produce, ensuring a delightful surprise each time.  Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

Unfortunately, due to our temporary kitchen setup, we are unable to accommodate specific dietary requirements or allergies, acknowledging the possibility of traces and cross-contamination.  Spaces for this event are limited and in high demand, so we encourage you to book as soon as possible to guarantee your place.

Josephine Marchandise is the Head of the Regenerative and Creative Kitchen and Fermentation Lab at OmVed Gardens. She is passionate about growing, cooking and fermenting plants. Inspired by the wild, she always tries to start her creative process outdoors, and nurture her relationship with the soil/land before taking ingredients to the kitchen. Jo has been exploring and experimenting with all sorts of fermentation techniques for a few years. She is a member of the UK Fermenters Guild, organises a yearly fermentation festival and regularly teaches hands-on workshops at OmVed Gardens in London and in France.

About OmVed Gardens:

Since 2017, we have been carefully restoring a previously tarmacked land in Highgate Village, north London, to provide a space to explore food, creativity and ecology for health and climate resilience.

We are a community interest company featuring a permaculture garden, a creative zero-waste kitchen and a growing educational, events and exhibition space. Our aims are to realise our deep entwinement with each other and the more-than-human, through thinking around food, gardening and ecological awareness, to improve diversity at all levels (seed, food, species, participation) and to use creativity and nature-led knowledge to help tackle the climate emergency. · @omvedgardens
