About the event

Set against the backdrop of OmVed Gardens' lush greenery and serene atmosphere, this workshop is a perfect opportunity for your child to develop a passion for sketching nature.

Throughout the session, children will embark on an immersive journey through the gardens, guided to observe, document, and collect natural elements. Convening at the glasshouse, our workshop host will illuminate the expressive potential of various materials and techniques, encouraging children to experiment and breathe life into their surroundings within a concertina sketchbook.

Nurture your child's imagination and deepen their connection to nature, as they hone valuable skills and create cherished memories at OmVed Gardens.

Designed for children aged 6 to 12, each child should be accompanied by an adult.

Meet the workshop host:

Corrie Wingate is an artist and arts facilitator based in North London. After traveling across the African continent as a documentary photographer and because of her interest in community arts projects, she founded an Art Centre and artist residency ‘Kids create Kenya’ at a children’s home on Lamu island. Now in its 10th year the art centre is a place where children and young adults can express themselves freely through art.

Corrie has been part of the garden and kitchen team at Omved since 2020 and currently facilitates a nature-based art program for young children and adults.
