About the event

Join The Gardening Drawing Club for a free natural dye workshop that reveals a palette of colours from what would otherwise first have been plant-based kitchen waste, such as peels, pits and much more.

During the period of time during which the fabrics will lay in the dye baths, we will be drawing and painting inspired by the shapes and colours to be encountered in OmVed Gardens.

This workshop is led by artist Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck and directly inspired by her series of collaborative installations, 'Penser, Manger, Partager' ('To Think, To Eat' To Share', 2015 - Present). It is an entry-level workshop in natural dye, and no prior experience is required. This method is one that participants repeat at home, with no additional material purchased other than what is to be found on most kitchen shelves.

If you can, please bring clean unwanted pieces of lightly coloured plant-based fabric.

Essential booking information

Please book one ticket per participant. Due to the nature of the workshop, this event is for adults only. You can add a donation when booking your ticket(s). Donations are essential in supporting The Gardening Drawing Club's work.
