About the event
Cyanotype is an alternative photographic technique that produces a distinctive cyan-blue print. It involves coating a surface with a light-sensitive emulsion which turns blue when exposed to sunlight leaving a distinctive white silhouette of the object placed on paper.
We will start by taking a walk around Omved gardens, observing a variety of wildflower and herb beds, noticing, textures, patterns, shapes and opacities before collecting a selection of botanicals for our sun print.
Then, working outdoors, we will play with different leaf and flower designs before arranging them onto light sensitive cyanotype paper that we will expose in the summer sun.
At the end of the session we will assemble the different prints together to create our very own wildflower sun print exhibition. Each participant will be able to take their unique sun print home.
