Every season we offer weekly volunteering gardening sessions to individuals interested in learning to grow food in an organic permaculture garden.

The sessions are led by trained medical herbalist and urban food grower Vicky Chown, who manages the kitchen gardens at Omved.

During the sessions, volunteers can learn vital skills in growing food in an organic permaculture garden including: seed sowing and propagation, tending to plants and their individual needs, pruning, fruit, shrub and tree maintenance, harvesting, seed saving, and more.

The volunteering sessions are advertised through a whatsapp group, open to up to 12 people per session, on a first come, first saved basis. As well as learning skills, volunteers are given lunch during a mid-morning break.
